Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information The Fickle Fork ("we," "us," or "our") handles when you use https://theficklefork.com (the "Service"), and how we use it. We aim to keep data collection minimal.
1. Information we handle
Depending on how you use the Service, this may include: recipe prompts and pasted recipes; your selected diet goals and preferences; restrictions and allergies you type in; feedback you submit; recipes you save; access and payment-related information needed to confirm a subscription; and the contents of any support emails you send us.
2. Information stored in your browser
The Service uses your browser's local storage (localStorage) on your own device to remember things like your free-generation count, your saved recipes (your "Recipe Box"), your access/unlock state, and feedback you've given. This information lives in your browser. If you clear your browser data, it is removed.
3. Technical and rate-limiting data
To keep the Service running and prevent abuse, we process basic technical information such as an anonymous device identifier and request/rate-limiting data. This helps us enforce free limits and protect the Service from spam and overload.
4. AI processing of your prompts
To generate a recipe, the inputs you submit (such as your craving, pasted recipe, goal, and restrictions) are sent to our AI/API provider to produce a result. Please avoid including sensitive personal, medical, or financial information in these inputs.
5. Payment processing
Payments, billing, subscription management, and refunds may be processed by Paddle, acting as merchant of record. When you make a purchase, the information needed to complete it is handled by Paddle under its own privacy terms. The Fickle Fork does not store your full payment card details.
6. How we use information
We use information to provide and operate the Service (generate and improve recipes), to remember your saved recipes and access state, to enforce free limits and prevent abuse, to process and confirm subscriptions, to respond to support requests, and to maintain the security and reliability of the Service.
7. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service (for example, our hosting, AI/API, and payment providers), when required for legal or safety reasons, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition. Service providers are expected to handle information consistent with this Policy.
8. Children
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Data retention
Recipes and settings stored in your browser remain until you delete them or clear your browser data. Technical and rate-limiting data is kept only as long as needed for those purposes. Payment records are retained by our payment provider as required for billing, tax, and legal compliance.
10. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, and we limit what we collect. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your choices
You can clear your saved recipes and other locally stored data by deleting your browser data for this site. You can stop using the Service at any time, and you can manage or cancel a subscription as described in the Refund & Cancellation Policy. For questions about your information, contact us using the details below.
